Do I need a new camera?

These dark spots show up on every photograph taken with the rear camera:

I've tried holding the phone up and then pinching it against a table in an attempt to move any dust behind the glass or stuck to the lens but it was to no avail.

Decided then to tear apart the phone and clean the area around the camera. The whole phone was dirty. Bits of wood and dust cluttered were everywhere(there is even dirt in the small space between the screen and the digitizer).

Put it back together and still anything the camera screens is stained with the black spots shown in the picture above.

They're not as noticeable in well lit places but still they will be there. Sometimes a new spot shows up and, upon vibrating the phone, it disappears again.

I'm looking at this thing with a strong light and a magnifying glass and I see NOTHING between the glass and the camera lens. Do I just need to get a new camera? I'm seeing these things on eBay for like 3 euros or so. How is it even that cheap? I thought camera lens and the sort were always, bootleg or not, an expensive kind of thing.

I have the same problem, which developed after I broke the clear front lens cover on my HTC. Since my camera lens is exposed, it can be cleaned without disassembling the phone. Tried q tip with lens cleaner as well as compressed canned air, and no luck. Since I have to replace my usb port as well as the lens cover, I have to take it apart anyway so I'll probably just replace the camera, though any other suggestions would still be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As you didnt mention whether it was the front or rear camera Im going to guess it the one in the screen as you did mention trying to squeeze the glass to move the dirt. This could be a matter of just separating the glass and camera and cleaning between the lens and the camera. this guild can help with the teardown and the fix

iPhone 5 Front-Facing Camera and Sensor Cable Replacement

If the camera works well i would try just cleaning to begin with if the problem persists then change out the camera. like you said there not that expensive

I did mention it was the rear camera, and I've already cleaned it. I'm curious as to what could be causing this other than dust and if the cameras on eBay aren't a hoax.
