USB port stopped working after voltage shorted

I shorted my macbook core due 2.0ghz by plugging in an external dvd drive with 12 volts power by accident should have been 5 vdc power. It instantly shut off. It rebooted but usb only powers on one port and it still doesn't communicate on either port. external dvd drive is dead. will not mount anything. I can not see anything wrong with macbook logic board. I reset pram, powered down, and removed battery. need help bad

edit: communication is possible but must power usb device from external source mac will no longer power device is there a fuse or something like a rest switch.

Thanks for the info
