I have a spider crack in my screen. Apple is telling me they can't fix it. I talked to them over the phone. My warranty is not up until August 2010. I did not bring it to the genius bar yet I know physical damage is not covered but I figured I would try. Any words of advice? If apple can't fix it what do I do next ? What do i need to get and how to I go about fixing it?

I don't think Apple will replace a cracked LCD under AppleCare warranty. You may try to bring your macbook at you appointment but if they refuse to fix it then buy the LCD panel here at iFixit or find a used working one on eBay. Check for a local shop in your area that could do the swap job. Here's a link for the macbook replacement LCD:

What do you mean 'apple tells you they can't fix it'? That should be a simple LCD fix, but you are under warranty, so they are REQUIRED, to either fix or replace your machine- call them up again and demand for either repair or replacement.

They told me over the phone that the warranty doesn't apply to physical damage. I have an appointment with them after Christmas. I know it's a simple LCD fix. Believe me I am going to fight with them and hopefully get my way. Do you think I will get more of a result calling them back instead of going to the store? On-line it says they could charge around 750.00 for them to replace it...Which is absolutely ridiculous and I'm not paying that!

They will replace physical damage as far as I know- why don't you march over to an apple store with the unit and demand some answers?
