Hard Drive Installation for MacBook

Hi,

I just bought the 500GB 7200 RPM Seagate SATA Hard Drive (New) for you and I tried to install it in my MacBook from July 2007. For some reason my MacBook isn't acknowledging it. It is now about 20 days past my purchase date. Is there anything you can tell me about it?

Options

Did you partition and format the drive? Both need to be done and the load your operating system.

Format the drive with Disk Utilities on your system installation disk and install a system.
