Replaced LCD shows strange Colors. Whats Wrong?

Hi,

I replaced a cracked LCD screen following your Instructions. Went down smoothly and the Display shows everything except that the colors are completely off. (A bit like the Comic Book effect in Photobooth, if that helps) Took it apart again and checked all the connections, they seem to fit. Microphone, iShight, antenna etc. work well.

Does anyone have an Idea? Could it be a Software issue?

My Mac: Model A1181 / 1.83 or 2.0 GHz Core Duo processor

Thanks for the help! What a super site!!!

Hook it up to an external monitor to try to isolate the problem. Let us know your results and we can proceed.

That isolates the problem to the LCD, inverter board or the Display Data Cable. My bet is on one of the first two. If the problem was not present before the screen cracked it would indicate the LCD. Where did it come from?

Hi, The LCD was ordered from a site called www.laptop-bildschirme.de . I live in Switzerland so that was my best shot. Is there any way to make sure that it is the LCD because then I could probably get it replaced. Otherwise Im totally with you, the Data cable seems pretty indestructible, and I dont really know what could be up with the Inverter. Thx! Leon

Thanks for the quick answer!

Seems like the problem is definately hardware related; Works perfectly well on an external screen. I tried making you a screenshot but that obviously comes out clear on another computer. I am pretty sure everything is fit together neatly inside, checked that twice.

Is there anything else I could try?

Thanks again, I really appreciate you guys taking the time to help out on stuff like this

Make sure all the connections are tight and clipped to the insert of the connections. Also make sure you bought the right Resolution, otherwise a different resolution screen will make your new one won't work.
