The ATI Radeon X1600 GPU is broken
Hi,
I took my laptop to Apple store and showed them the scrambled apple logo. They said that it is probably broken Graphics card/unit and the complete logic board needs to be replaced, which will cost alot!
Is there a work around for this issue like the use of an external graphics card or something cheaper than getting the logic board replaced?
Regards,
Tania
Is this a good question?

How did you determine that you have a Radeon GPU?

I called apple support and gave them my serial number, they told me that my laptop has the ATI GPU not the NVIDIA.
So this is not covered under apple program.
I have 15 inch Late 2006 Macbook Pro, 2.16 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB Hard disk
