Got wet and battery is damage

Took the iPhone apart and took the battery out. Plastic that hold the battery to the iPhone broke and I just wanted to know if changing the battery would fix it. I left the phone opened and is still opened. Would the rest of the parts still would work?

DO NOT PUT IT IN RICE! You are wasting your time doing that.

Clean the board up with a toothbrush and 99.9% isypropyl alcohol, and then rinse in a tub of isypropyl alcohol, this is a basic DIY fix, for more further cleaning, you would have to remove the logic board shields, and use an ultrasonic cleaner.

Well the best thing to do when the phone gets wet is to put in a box full of rice and let it sit there for a day or two.

And could attach a picture of the damaged parts and the phone.

Rice in a salt shaker is OK for breaking up clumps, but as a desiccant just doesn't cut it for electronics. Do some research. Here's what the Apple Community says: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/566...
