Hard drive or SSD upgrade?

Hi there! Just wondering if anyone could help me out with a technical question:

I have the MacBook Pro w/ Retina Display, 15-inch,Early 2013 model and I'm looking to upgrade my memory as it is almost full (use it for school and movie editing, etc.), just wondering if I need an SSD or an HDD. If so, could anyone make recommendations? Thanks :)

As you can see from the guides, this machine does not use a hard drive, only an SSD. Here's a list of the available ones: MacBook Pro 13" and 15" Retina (Late 2013-Mid 2014) SSD

Transcend makes good aftermarket SSDs. Avoid the OWC junk, half of the time they do not even fit in the machine and they die worse than 2011 A1286 GPUs.

are these available at Best Buy?

Both my OWC 1tb and 2tb SSDs have lasted and operate fine, still in 2 x 2011 15" Retina Macbook Pros. The 1tb was an easy fit 10 mins. The 2tb needed a mac software patch that was beyond me but my tech sorted it in minutes.
