Cracked screen only problem, what do I replace?

I cracked my screen a few months ago and again much worse today. It now absolutely needs to be repaired as there are electronics exposed and I don't want more issue to develop.

The ONLY problem with my phone is that the screen is cracked. I want to replace it on my own. In looking for replacement parts on Ebay, someone clarified that if you needed a LCD / digitizer then you would need something else (not the cheap glass screen and repair kit).

My question is do I only need the glass screen, or when I remove my cracked screen will that also take the LCD/digitizer part out of my phone?

Thanks so much!

Ali Stewart, you could replace only the digitizer/glass, but it is a pain if you have never done it. You will also have to come up with a way to re=adhere the parts. I suggest you replace the complete front display assembly. It is a straight forward repair. Here is the guide and part is available at places like this.
