Black Screen after screen replaced

I replaced the front screen and powered up the phone. I got the main screen and was able to get to settings when I discovered neither the home button nor the power button was functioning. Now nothing seems to work although the device is recognized by iTunes

Checked connections, tried the reset sequence.

What's next ??

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

no power and no home button function on iPhone 5 can = pry damage from prying at the battery on the edge of the logicboard.

If you have a black screen with no backlight, but a phone is recognized by iTunes, then that is A.) bad connection B.) defective screen C.) blown backlight filter/fuse or fingernail damage to the connector/filters

I am pretty sure I did not pry the battery from the logic board, I have reconnected the cables several times, the screen was working when I first put it in, and I don't have much in the way of fingernails.

What should I try next? A new screen? What about the non functioning power button and home button?
