Power adapter broke. Is it fixable?

The small wire from the charger to the mag-safe input has become loose at the connection to the charger box. I can push it in and the computer will start charging but I dont expect htat to last very long.

I am willing to consider fixing it if practical. If not I am willing to purchase a new charger.

I have an A1181 MacBook Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz. I noticed there's a few chargers to choose from. So far I have found a 60 watt and an 85 watt.

Which one is the most superior and will allow my computer to charge in the least amount of time?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I should add that I have a 13" just in case there's any confusion on that (I doubt there would be).

Also, For 4 months the light indicator has only shown red. The green stopped working rather randomly. I don't know if that should mean anything in particular, just an added detail.

Well how about you try first with electrical tape and if that doesn't work solder, since it's at a joint it's a little tricky.

Post a picture so we can see the detail of what you mean, that can help us see what needs to be specifically done.

You might be able to get away with just using electrical tape to tape the wire in place, or you'll have to solder it (and then probably cover with electrical tape anyway).

Oh and for a charger get the 85 watt.

Hi rab--looking at his photo I think you're right about him getting the 85 watt. Ralph +
