White Screen with Apple Logo after Screen Replacement

So my friend gave me her phone because she dropped it and had someone repair it but it only worked for a second before the screen went to the apple logo that is black and has a white background. So the guy put the screen back on and gave it back to her. Anyways she gave me the phone and i was wondering what the problem is. Did he fry the mother board.

Here is a detailed description: the phone turns on and off with a white screen and black apple logo then it goes black. When u press home and the sleep button then it goes black with purple on the bottom and two vertical lines. When i plug it into my computer it will sometimes go completely blue. What happened and is it repairable cause i want to ditch my iphone 4s and use her iphone 5.

The person who gave me the phone is a girl to clarify the she and the person who tried to repair it was a guy. He repaired 2 phones so far so i think he is somewhat reliable

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

You need to clarify your question and get rid of some variables. What exactly happens right now with the old screen on the phone (after you've double checked that you're getting good contact at your connectors)? after you connect the battery and press the power button?

Can iTunes recognize it? never?

Do you see any damage to the board near the connectors if you look really closely under the black sticker?

What is the history of the phone before the 'repair'

When he changed the screen he never took out the battery.

Once he put in the new one it did that. Then he changed to the old one and the problem came up. Before he tried to change to the new screen, this did not happen. It was cracked but it worked.

And after he tried to fix it, itunes will not recognize it. Before it did.

Can you help me see what im supposed to look for near the black sticker.

The phone worked it was just dropped a week ago. After it dropped it worked but the screen was 100% shattered.

I'm going to take a stab at explaining why this description is too vague for us to help you. Here is what I think when I read what you've just written:

"When he changed the screen he never took out the battery."

---Most people don't, no problem.

"Once he put in the new one it did that."

---Did what? white screen with black apple logo--that is normal, all white iPhone 5's show this at startup.

" Then he changed to the old one and the problem came up. Before he tried to change to the new screen, this did not happen. " ---I have absolutely no idea what "the problem" and "this did not happen" are referring to.

"It was cracked but it worked. And after he tried to fix it, itunes will not recognize it. Before it did." If iTunes will not recognize your phone, you have a no power problem. You need to think about the battery and dock connector.
