Do these screens use original IPS technology or TFT?

I would like to know the quality of these screens. Apple technology uses IPS (In-Panel Switching) and cheaper aftermarket screens use FTF (thin-film transistors).

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Who's display are you comparing here? As far as I know the driver logic wouldn't work correctly if the display was not IPS.

the 5s uses 4-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology 1136-by-640-pixel resolution at 326 ppi. Again, what aftermarket screens are you referring to?

If you look at this webpage in the 5th paragraph it states that some lower end screens will use ftf technology... I don't know how accurate this is but seems logical. In my opinion at least.

"These screens" is too broad. There is a wide range of quality in aftermarket screens. The good ones are near-original. The bad ones are wholly crap. You would be hard pressed to find any parts vendor from the cheapest guy on eBay on up that did NOT say "these parts are OEM" so those words mean nothing. I tend to exclude any vendor that uses the word "OEM" to describe their parts.

Initially, price can help guide you toward the higher quality parts--to a point. Some vendors offer similar parts to everyone else at an incredible mark up. If you ignore the highest priced and the lowest priced parts out there, you'll be in the right ballpark.

After that, buy screens rated AAA, and choose one that is backed by a strong warranty and excellent customer service.

Ignoring all else, the warranty is what dictates quality in the parts market, not some "OEM saying" parts vendor's claim to understand the technology behind the way the screen works.

good luck
