You have to convert both the VIDEO & AUDIO
a vga connection (analog video only) cannot simply become digital. With extra processing it can be converted via a "black box"

Really? Which adapter?
I think he means this one:
VGA is an analog signal plug, whereas HDMI is digital. VGA is also graphic signal only, so your sound will have to come from your computer speakers. Check out the black box link in machead3's answer.
