Why is my remote control not working after upgrade?

After upgrading from OS 10.4 to 10.6 my remote control won't respond to commands in certain (not all) applications (particularly eye.tv, which is annoying).

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Usually this happens when the "pairing" gets messed up. Try doing the pairing again or download "Remote Buddy" here: http://www.iospirit.com/products/remoteb...

Then do it.

Cheers Guys,

the apple remote works fine in all apps when remotebuddy is switched on, but as far as I can see hasn't solved the pairing issue as such (which I tried by pressing the menu and fast-forward buttons simultaneously). From the discussion forum I gather there's a mix up between Receiver IRs but it is well beyond me. This means I'd have to subscribe to the $20 to run remotebuddy continuously. Not the best solution but better than nothing...

Thanks again
