Software I dont know what I neeed

Hi,

I know there is free system software from apples website that you can download for free, but im unsure of what OS.

I have a G4 iBook with a combodrive , 800mhz and 320 bites of ram, I dont know what system is on this because I cant access it.

Can I install the free software apple offers on this iBook??

Why can't you access it? What happens when you try to start up?

There are ways to delete the admin account, but if you want system software, you can't get it for free (Legally) Your machine can run any OS from 10.0-10.4.11 (And up to 10.5.8 with an 867Mhz CPU or faster) that you can find on eBay (I recommend 10.4.* for this machine) if you want to know how to delete the admin, and passwords, let me know, and I can tell you.

Mac OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger) is available for PPC on their website. That's the OS you should be running. You should probably upgrade your RAM though, although 320MB should be fine.

ok so I d.led it but it dosnt read the dvd-r that i burned it too. should it be a cd?? or how do i get the machine to read it??
