HP eStation Zeen Troubleshooting

The HP eStation Zeen is a detachable Android-powered tablet that is a peripheral device for the HP Photosmart eStation c510 Printer.

Will not turn on ¶ 

The HP eStation Zeen will not power on after the power button has been pressed.

Dead battery ¶ 

Connect the device to a mini USB charger. Then wait 10-15 minutes and try to power the device on.

Button physically broken ¶ 

The power button may be broken. This means that the button is not connecting to the motherboard properly. The button may need to be replaced.

Faulty battery ¶ 

The battery may no longer work. Check the battery for any signs of deformation. Even if there are no signs of deformation, the battery may still be faulty. Please follow this guide to begin replacing the battery.

Faulty ground wire ¶ 

It is possible that the ground wire that is connected to the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to replace the ground wire.

Faulty motherboard ¶ 

The HP eStation Zeen does not have many components. If the device is not powering on after the previous steps the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to begin replacing the motherboard.

Unresponsive touch screen ¶ 

The HP eStation Zeen is powered on but the touch screen is not responding no matter how hard the screen is pressed.

Device requires restart ¶ 

The device may require a restart. Simply power down the device and power it back up after 10 seconds.

Requires factory reset ¶ 

If a restart does not work the device may require a factory reset. For the factory reset please follow this link and begin the factory reset on the device.

Faulty display ¶ 

It is possible that the display screen is faulty and may need a replacement.

Faulty ground wire ¶ 

It is possible that the ground wire that is connected to the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to replace the ground wire.

Faulty motherboard ¶ 

If the display is still unresponsive after the previous steps the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to begin replacing the motherboard.

Unresponsive volume buttons ¶ 

The volume on the device does not change when the volume buttons are pressed.

Button physically broken ¶ 

If the volume button is being pressed and the volume indicator on the tablet is not changing; then the volume buttons may be physically broken. Please follow this guide to begin replacing the volume buttons.

Faulty ground wire ¶ 

It is possible that the ground wire that is connected to the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to replace the ground wire.

Faulty motherboard ¶ 

If the volume is still unresponsive after the previous steps, the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to begin replacing the motherboard.

Low or no audio ¶ 

The HP eStation Zeen is producing no sound or the sound is distorted.

Volume is off or set to low ¶ 

Try increasing the volume by firmly pressing the "up" volume button.

Button physically broken ¶ 

The volume buttons may be physically broken. Please follow this guide to begin replacing the volume buttons.

Damaged speaker ¶ 

The speaker may be damaged from running too long at a high volume or from general wear and tear. Please follow this guide to begin replacing the speaker.

Faulty ground wire ¶ 

It is possible that the ground wire that is connected to the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to replace the ground wire.

Motherboard is faulty  ¶ 

If the display is still unresponsive after the previous steps, then the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to begin replacing the motherboard.

Device will not charge ¶ 

The mini USB is connected but the device is not charging.

Charger is faulty ¶ 

Test out the mini USB charger on another device. If it does not charge other devices properly, please purchase or find a new charger.

Battery is faulty ¶ 

If the device is not accepting a charge, the battery could be faulty. Please follow this guide to begin replacing the replacing the battery.

Faulty ground wire ¶ 

It is possible that the ground wire that is connected to the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to replace the ground wire.

Motherboard is faulty ¶ 

If the device is still not accepting a charge after the previous steps then the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to begin replacing the motherboard.

Device is not reading memory card ¶ 

A external memory device has been inserted into the HP eStation Zeen but the device is not acknowledging the external memory device.

Port has an obstruction ¶ 

The external memory port may have a physical obstruction preventing a proper connection to the device. Please carefully try to remove any obstruction from the memory port.

Memory device is faulty ¶ 

If the external memory device is not being read by the HP eStation Zeen it is possibly because the memory device is not compatible or is simply faulty. Please purchase or find another external memory device.

Faulty ground wire ¶ 

It is possible that the ground wire that is connected to the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to replace the ground wire.

Motherboard is faulty ¶ 

If the device is still not accepting the external memory after the previous steps the motherboard is faulty. Please follow our guide to begin replacing the motherboard.

Device will not connect to printer ¶ 

The device will not connect to the printer through Wi-Fi and through docking.

Port has an obstruction ¶ 

Carefully remove any debris blocking the docking ports from connecting.

Router malfunction ¶ 

If the device cannot connect through Wi-Fi, try restarting the router that the device is connected to.

Requires factory reset ¶ 

If the device still cannot connect to the printer through Wi-Fi, the device may need a factory reset. Please follow this link and begin the factory reset on the device.

Port is faulty on printer ¶ 

If none of the previous steps have solved the problem of the device not docking to the printer then the docking port on the printer may be faulty and may require replacing.

Faulty ground wire ¶ 

It is possible that the ground wire that is connected to the motherboard is faulty. Please follow this guide to replace the ground wire.

Motherboard is faulty  ¶ 

If the device is still not docking or connecting through Wi-Fi after the previous steps, the motherboard is faulty. Please follow our guide to begin replacing the motherboard.
