HP ProBook 640 G5 Does Not Connect To Wireless
Your HP ProBook 640 G5 fails to connect to Wi-Fi networks, cannot detect available wireless networks, or drops connection unexpectedly. Wireless connectivity problems may be caused by software settings, driver issues, hardware problems (including a failing WLAN module), or network configuration errors.
Failing WLAN Module
If all software, drivers, and settings are correct and the laptop still cannot connect, the wireless adapter hardware itself may be failing or disconnected.
Check the wireless adapter in Device Manager → Network adapters; if it shows errors or fails to start, this may indicate a fault.
Test with an external USB Wi-Fi adapter. If this connects successfully, the internal WLAN module likely needs replacement.
Inspect antenna cables and connectors if you’re comfortable opening the laptop.
Follow the WLAN replacement guide to access and replace the internal Wi-Fi module.
