Causes
A dead or drained battery can stop the HP ProBook from turning on. Plug the device into the working power source with an original HP charger for at least 15-30 minutes and turn the ProBook on again.

A damaged charger can prevent devices from powering on. Check that the charger is plugged into the ProBook properly. Inspect cable and connector for any damage/loose connection. Try using another HP compatible charger if available.

The power button or its internal connection might be faulty or loose. Press and hold the power button for 10–15 seconds to perform a hard reset. If that fails, the power button ribbon cable inside the device may need to be checked or reseated, which requires partial disassembly.

If the RAM sticks are loose or malfunctioning, the device might not power at all. Remove the back panel, take out the RAM sticks, and reinsert them firmly. Try turning on the device with one stick at a time to identify if one is faulty.

A deeper issue, such as a damaged motherboard, can also prevent startup. Look for signs of physical damage, burnt components, or corrosion. If no visible damage is found, professional diagnosis may be needed to test internal parts like the power IC or motherboard.
