When typing, the key will be hard to press down or stays down without coming back up after release.
Dirty Key
If the key does not operate properly there may be something blocking it. This obstruction may need to be removed to let the key to travel correctly. Refer to the key cap replacement guide to clean the area underneath the stuck key.
Faulty Key Stabilizer
On the larger keys such as the space bar, shift, enter, and backspace, there are key stabilizers that help to prevent the key from wobbling or tilting when the large keys are pressed off center. If the stuck key is one of these, the key stabilizer may be faulty or misaligned. For a misaligned stabilizer, refer to the key cap removal guide. For replacement refer to the key stabilizer replacement guide.
Faulty Key Switch
If the key gets stuck in the pressed position, or does not operate correctly even after cleaning, the key switch may be faulty. Refer to the key switch replacement guide for repair.
