Causes
- It's possible that the cable that connects the touchpad to the main board is loose. So to fix this issue, we'll have to open up the laptop. Before opening the laptop to access the trackpad cable, turn it off and unplug the power. Reposition the cable so that it is entirely and accurately inserted after carefully opening the lock that holds it in place. Then, firmly close the latch.
- First disassemble the laptop, and carefully remove the bottom case to inspect the battery.
- Then check if the battery is swollen, as this causes the cable to become loose.
- After, if it is swollen, disconnect and remove the batter, since it may cause further damage if kept in place.
- Utilize external power and reassemble. You can either buy a new battery or use the laptop with a cable connection without one.
