  1. Turn your Chromebook off
  2. Hold the refresh button down and press the power button
  3. Once the Chromebook screen turns on, release the refresh button

Debris under the keyboard can cause a keyboard to jam or stick. To clean any debris from the keyboard, follow these steps:

  1. Turn your Chromebook off.
  2. Over a trash can, turn your Chromebook upside down.
  3. Carefully shake it to get rid of any loose debris.
  4. With a small vacuum, carefully suck any dirt or crumbs that may be there.
  5. With a slightly damp microfiber cloth, wipe the keys and the spaces between them.
  6. Wipe with a dry cloth.
  7. Turn the Chromebook on and type.

With constant use of Chromebook's keyboard, the rubber membranes can lose their spring-back ability.

Steps

  1. You’ll need a replacement rubber cup
  2. Remove the old rubber cup and have the surface of where the old key was as flat as possible
  3. Place the new rubber cup
  4. Attach the white plastic mechanism and make sure it is screw in place
  5. Attach the key
  6. Try typing, and if it doesn't feel right, repeat to scratch off the leftovers of the old rubber cup
