Causes
If the Garmin screen is unresponsive while in use.
- Perform a soft reset:
- Make sure that the device is connected to the power supply with charger plugged in the power supply.
- Press and hold the power button and slowly count to 30 and the device should restart.
- Leave the device plugged in to fully charge the battery.
If the Garmin device screen looks like it is "glitching".
- Update the software/maps:
- Connect the device to a computer using Garmin Express to make sure that all of the software and maps are on the newest version.
- Then restart the device
If the Garmin gets stuck on the loading maps screen or continuously reboots.
- Perform a hard reset: Disclaimer, this will delete all saved data, including saved places and travel history. But this will not delete the maps.
- If this keeps becoming an issue and the screen is working, access the settings menu, device, reset, delete data, and reset data, then select yes.
If the device turns on, then shuts back off.
- Try plugging in the device and make sure that it is fully charged
- Make sure that the battery is connected properly
