My Problem
The backlight on my wife's MacBook would only work at specific viewing angles.
My Fix
Knew the repair could take a while, so it wound up being 6 months until I had enough time to sit down with it! In the end it only took about 2 hours, but not my first rodeo with taking this model apart. Noted some breakage on the clutch cover, no doubt from having been dropped in the past.
My Advice
For ease of reattaching the display bezel, follow the steps carefully to return the gray clips to their home position. I didn't have a thin metal spudger, but a small flat screwdriver (0.8mm) is most useful in releasing the gray clips.
