My Problem

After Apple "offered" to fix my charging problem for $250, I ordered the iFixit kit for about $22.00.

My Fix

Going slowly and deliberately, I followed the online guide. I opened the case, removed and staged the parts in the tool tray, and disassembled everything I needed. Then after replacing the charging port card, I reinstalled everything following the online guide in reverse order. After about one hours time, the phone was charging and working once again.

My Advice

Use the online tutorial and take your time. Keep the screws and individual parts segregated together. I took all the tools out of the shipping tray and used the individual slots for storage of the screws and iPhone parts. It worked great.
