The "Impossible" Battery Replacement
My Problem
Original battery was not holding a charge

My Advice
Apple's design on this is atrocious and I imagine Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave. It is entirely unnecessary to remove the entire Logic Board. While this could be seen as precautionary, I see it as a bigger liability that something else will get broken along the way. There are only two screws that need to be removed. Then we simply unplugged the battery, loosened the adhesive with a small amount of alcohol, careful not to get any on the surrounding parts (not hard), pried off the battery (carefully, using only plastic tools), and inserted the new one. I did not remove the adhesive strips on the center portion, only the outside cells. There was a small amount of adhesive remaining that helped hold it together without creating more adhesive mess. We cycled the battery fully and it is working great!
