How to replace your iPhone 5 battery

Moderate

My Problem

I have a 6 plus that has been suffering 'touch disease' for several months

Got a hand me down iPhone 5 with severe cracks and non functioning screen, but plugged it in and recognized as working

My Fix

Had some trouble getting the screen off because the digitizer and the glass had becom separated so prying it up didn't work as expected. Took a bit more finagling and eventually just more brute force than I would have thought to unlatch it!

Otherwise went pretty smoothly all working well.

New screen and battery

Same old beat up and cracked back case

My Advice

Grateful to have a phone with a working touchscreen!!!

Back to An iPhone 5 after 2.5 years with a 6 Plus is interesting

Totally worth it. I'll wait for a while on any other upgrade or replacements.
