Successful Battery Replacement - 2013 MBA 13", OS X 10.11.6

My Problem

My battery with almost 700 cycles and approximately 80% health was starting to cause MBA shutdowns with greater than 50% charge remaining.

My Fix

Replacing the battery is a very easy MBA repair. You just need the right tools.

My Advice

I was concerned about previous reports of MBA battery replacement issues under El Capitan. The reports stated that new batteries were not being recognized properly by MBAs running El Capitan, and advice was being given to downgrade to Yosemite in order to replace the battery. I experienced none of those issues. Repair went 100% as expected. My MBA recognized the new battery under El Capitan at 101.5% health. I am currently running OS X 10.11.6.
