My Problem
My wife's iPhone 5's screen was bulging on the left side. I suspected this was due to a swelling battery. She uses a battery case which I suspect was overcharging the phone battery. Upon opening up her phone, I confirmed this suspicion.
My Fix
I followed the steps in the guide verbatim and all went well. I have a magnetized mat for keeping track of the screws, but I still managed to lose one. Thankfully, it was one of the screws that holds down the metal panel in the top right, which has three, so losing one was no big deal.
My Advice
The adhesive holding her battery is was quite strong. The guide mentions only prying in certain areas, and you may be tempted to ignore this. Don't. Just be patient.
