How to replace your iPhone 5 battery

15 minutes

Moderate

My Problem

My battery would not hold a charge very long. Plus one minute it said it was fully charged next minute it said there was no charge. Apple store people told me the battery was defective, but it was out of warranty. It did not matter that the battery was defective from day one. It would be over $80 to replace the battery.

My Fix

I have used Ifixit before and had no problems with my iPhone 3. So I checked with Ifixit and sure enough they had all I needed to repair the iPhone sg5. The guide was perfect and it took all of 20 minutes. When done I could tell the difference right away. After running the battery down to less than 10% as the instructions said, I plug it in and charged it to 100%. Did not need to recharge for 3 days and even then it was not totally down. WOW

My Advice

I firmly believe that if you some mechanical ability Ifixit is the way to go. Just follow the guide and you cannot go wrong. I would recommend them for any repair of anything they have on their site. And you cannot beat the price. Mine went from over $80 to $35. I got the tools they recommend which added a few $s.

Great going Ifixit!!!!!
