How to replace your iPhone 5 battery

Easy

My Problem

The battery that needed to be replaced was the original that came with the phone. The phone was purchased about a month after the iPhone 5 was released. That's a total of 3 years, 6 months and 23 days of usage which isn't bad. By the time I replaced it, the battery would only hold enough power to keep the phone on for about 3 hours.

My Fix

The entire job, start to finish, was pretty easy. I've disassembled and repaired every model iPhone over the years so I knew what to expect. The glue strips under the battery were a little more annoying than usual but all total the job went well.

My Advice

Take you're time if you're not familiar with the device breakdown. If the phone hasn't been taken apart before, expect some resistance when opening it. If you don't have a way to warm the phone up to make the glue under the battery more pliable then be patient with trying to remove it. If you get annoyed and try to pry it out you can easily puncture the old battery or damage the frame or internal components of the device. BE PATIENT! One last thing, make sure you have plenty of light...
