My Problem
My parents usually get the older iPhones when I upgrade. They're pretty happy with this and it upgraded them from using those old T-Mobile flip-phones from Nokia. My Dad has an iPhone 5 and after the years of me using it heavily and then him using it heavily the battery was not holding up. For awhile my Dad was thinking of switching to a new carrier and getting new phones, but one thing led to another and he was not able to do so. Upset that his phone would drop to 90% just by taking it off the charger I decided to splurge for him and replace the battery myself.
My Fix
The one thing I LOVE about iFixit is the tutorials. The kit had all I needed and I followed along with the video. I think I only rewound the video once to get a look at one of the parts that was hard to see.
My Advice
Give yourself space and have some way to manage the screws you pull out of the device. They are super small and easy to lose. The kit has a magnetized Phillips which was a lifesaver.
