My Problem
My wife's 2010 MacBook Pro became so slow that we were ready to replace it. Before replacing it I checked to see how full the hard drive was. The 320GB drive had only 10GB of space remaining. I knew that would slow things down.
My Fix
I upgraded the hard drive to 1TB and the RAM from 4GB to 8GB.
iFixit's online instructions were great and very easy to follow. I also added the tools to my order. I would certainly recommend purchasing the tools. Having the right tool makes any job easier. What a difference that made. My wife is now very happy with her computer. I would guess that bought two or three more years of use for the MacBook Pro.
My Advice
As I said above buy the tools. The right tools will insure that the job goes smoothly.
