My Problem
Had a trackpad issue and wanted to give this laptop some more oomph and extended life. Added a Hybrid drive and upgraded the RAM too, (through OWC, they offered the 16Gb, which is not officially supported by Apple, but it definitely works! too bad iFixit didn't sell this ram configuration). Added some new feet too, some old ones were missing.
My Fix
Easy repairs, just followed all 3 instructions simultaneously (Harddrive, Ram and Trackpad, but couldn't find one on the feet so used Youtube on that one), an got it done in a breeze.
Machine is now running latest El Capitan and purring :)
My Advice
I got the iFixit tool-kit, which was a great help for having all the proper bits and pieces. Taped the screws to the body and components in the proper positions as they came out/off, to avoid misplacing them.
