My Problem
So I bought my fiancée a MacBook Air for Christmas 2014. In February while playing with our puppy, she threw a toy and it knocked a glass of tea over onto her computer. It was open, but turned off. She was devastated.
My Fix
I immediately cleaned up all the tea I could, and opened it up and let it dry for 4 days. I went through and cleaned it methodically with isopropyl and q-tips, being careful to get all the residue out. After waiting a few more days I plugged it in and powered it up. Success!!! But it turns out the battery was fried. So I ordered a new battery, took it back apart, replaced the battery, cleaned a little bit more. And shazam!! It is working great, and has been for a week now.
My Advice
Take your time, have the correct tools for the job. Be extremely careful with the screws, they are very small. Thanks!!
