My Problem

My battery was not holding a charge as long as it used to and was acting weird at the 20-30% mark. It would suddenly drop from 25% to 10% or have a hard time charging from that point.

My Fix

The whole replacement, from powering off to powering back on, took about 30 minutes. The trickiest parts were removing the display assembly, this takes quite a bit of force. Instead of opening it up a little to then pry open, the whole assembly popped off for me. Luckily I didn't pull any cables apart. Separating the battery from the adhesive was also nerve racking, as you had to apply constant force to slowly pull it away. Otherwise, removing and replacing screws and cables were no problem.

My Advice

I read this suggestion somewhere else, but didn't follow it. Perform this over a dish cloth or some other soft material, as I did drop a screw and had to hunt it down after it bounced and rolled. Fortunately, it landed a few millimeters from the edge of my desk, but didn't fall over.
