My Problem
I received a warning that my hard drive had errors and needed to be replaced. My hard drive contains all the video and audio recordings of my band, Gypsy Sticks. Even the thought of losing that drives me crazy. So I immediately ordered a replacement drive from iFixit and paid for overnight shipping.
My Fix
When the replacement hard drive arrived I went back to iFixit.com and looked up the instructions for the repair. Everything went perfect and the detailed instructions were great! The actual replacement of the hard drive took less than 10 minutes (not counting cloning the old drive to the new one).
My Advice
The best thing about the whole experience was that I went ahead and paid the few extra dollars for the kit with the tools needed to replace the hard drive. What a great decision that was! The tool kit itself is a very nice kit and the hard drive enclosure was perfect! Unless you're a computer geek you probably don't have a hard drive enclosure lying around the house. Get the kit! It's well worth it!
