My Problem

My phone was refurbished, so it wasn't a surprise that the battery went bad after only owning it for a couple of months. The phone would not display the correct battery percentage (it would bounce all over the place), and it would often die at 30%.

My Fix

I was nervous about the repair because, while I was confident in my ability, I had never opened an iPhone before. It ended up being easier than I thought. My biggest concern was accidentally snapping something fragile (like the connectors), but even though I had to connect and reconnect things a few time to get the panels to fit, nothing broke. The battery, as was stated in the guide, was VERY difficult to remove, and took about 10 of the 20 minutes it took me to complete the repair. The adhesive is strong, and I had to carefully wedge the tool under the battery to unstick it. Otherwise, the repair went smoothly. My new battery works really well, and I am more than satisfied with this purchase!

My Advice

Be careful and patient when removing the battery. It does take a while to remove it from the adhesive.
