My Problem
My 2.5 yrs old iPhone 5 battery had swollen and caused the display panel to lift.
My Fix
Having disassembled iPhones before, not only did I have the correct tools for the job but I also made good use of YouTube to familiarize myself with the dos and don'ts related to replacing my iPhone 5 battery. The challenging part was reconnecting the LCD connectors to the main board and seating the hooks on the bracket that secures them. Otherwise, the battery replacement was quite smooth for me.
My Advice
As per the notes on iFixit's website, when installing the bracket for the LCD connectors, try to catch the hooks first and then rotate the bracket down towards the edge of the iPhone.
