My Problem
My wife dropped her IPhone 4S and the display did not show cracked, but would only display blue lines.
My Fix
After Google-ing the issue I found ifixit.com and found out that this model had the screen and digitizer built as one unit. So I ended up ordering the part with optional tool kit. When the kit showed up at the house, I logged onto ifixit.com and had a step by step how-to pictures and diagram to disassemble and reassemble the phone with the new part. Less than an hour later the phone was working and my wife was able to read all of her messages and texts she had missed.
My Advice
Research your phone model and issues. This repair cost $45.00 instead of $200.00 for a new phone plus raise in monthly cost of a two year contract. ifixit.com has a lot of the answers to issues as well as the how-to information to fix.
