My Problem
My Early 2011 MBP was running like molasses on everything from bootup to app switching to... well, anything really! After going back and forth between upgrading my HD and upgrading my RAM, I ended up on this handy kit.
My Fix
SO EASY. Took me all of 20 minutes and I've never done a hardware repair myself. I had a really good time seeing the guts of my computer and feeling real ownership over the upgrade.
My Advice
Don't be afraid to try a hardware fix like this yourself, especially the hard drive that is usually one of the more easily accessible/exchanged components of the computer. My one piece of advice is to have compressed air on hand - I was shocked at how much dust had accumulated inside my machine - as well as to have some easy organization method for all the teeny tiny screws you will encounter.
