My Problem

The camera in my 6 Plus had gone bad a months ago and was getting worse. The image stabilizer would jerk the camera off center on its own every second or so. Apple store said it may be the camera, but it could also be the motherboard. :/ I decided to just change the camera myself with parts from iF . . .

My Problem

The battery. My battery was shot and I needed a new battery replacement.

My Fix

As a first time opening up the iPhone, it wasn't all that bad. I did have some assistance from my father from doing other iPhone repairs such as more battery replacements and even the difficult screen replacements. The other thi . . .

My Problem

The battery was not lasting very long and the remaining battery indicator was very inaccurate.

My Fix

Great. The only issue was removing the adhesives, as I didn't maintain them flat al the way, so they broke in one point. It was hard but eventually I was able to grab them back with the twizzers.

My Problem

Original battery was not holding a charge

My Fix

Simple and the step by step instructions made it a breeze.

My Advice

I lay out a piece of paper a draw a diagram of where all the screws go. As I remove them I place them on the paper. This keeps you from getting any of them mixed up.

My Problem

After nearly three years of hard use, my iPhone 6 Plus rarely made it the whole day on one charge. I ordered the battery and repair kit (highly recommended), and followed the step-by-step instructions. The only difficulty was that my three adhesive strips did not pull out. I had to scrape them off t . . .

My Problem

My stock battery was down to 30% of its original capacity.

My Fix

The repair was easy enough. Pulling the adhesive strips was the hardest part, be patient, go slow. Also, be very careful putting the new adhesive on the replacement battery. It's thinner than tissue paper and if you wrinkle it, you will ne . . .

My Problem

Quick battery discharge

My Fix

Good replacement, but would not charge past 1%. There is a small insulator underneath the battery plate cover. If that isn't perfectly placed over the battery terminal then when you charge the battery it will short. It will result in your phone not able to charge above 1%. I a . . .

My Problem

Wife's screen was broken and her battery would constantly die out of nowhere.

My Fix

Repair went well. Used Ifixit repair guide.

My Advice

Iphone 6 plus was a lot easier to repair than the old Iphone 5's. I like how Apple changed the design of the IPhone 6's to make repairs simpler.

My Problem

The battery was toast. 2 hours between charges, always died at 35%.

My Fix

Simple enough. I love that the kit also included replacement philips head screws to replace the non-standard case screws. The left and center adhesive strip broke, but I was able to fish them out without bending the battery up too . . .

My Problem

The battery charge was draining very fast.

My Fix

Much simpler than I thought it would be.

My Advice

iF you don't have the magnetic tray for the screws, use a pill box to keep them separated.
