My Problem

Everything worked except the headset speaker.

My Fix

The repair went well. It took around 20-25 minutes as I didn't plug one of the cables back in correctly and didn't have proper touch functionality on the screen. I had to take it apart again and redo the cables from the screen.

My Advice

Just take your time. One step at a time.

My Problem

Earpiece speaker on iPhone 6 seemed to be almost dead as I could barely hear the person on the other end with the volume at max.

My Fix

Repair went great. Step-by-step instructions were very easy to follow and it only took about 15-20 minutes. The pictures in the instructions were very helpful.

My Advice

Make sure you keep the screws separated enough and remember where each one went. They are VERY small and I can see how you could lose one and/or forget where each one goes.

Repair went smooth.

My Problem

Ear piece speaker did not work due to moisture corrosion

My Fix

Step by step instructions were spot on.

My Advice

This unit has some moisture damage and Apple quoted $315 for repair. This $25 repair fixed it all.

I did have to remove some corrosion from the speaker connector but an eraser on the end of a pencil took care of that, followed up with some alcohol to clean it off. Plugging the connectors back onto the main board can take a couple of tries. Be patient and it will all go fine.

My Problem

My earpiece seemed to not work as well. I could hardly hear anyone, which became very problematic as I work at home and attend many meetings via phone. I got to the point I had to use the speaker. Even with the accessibility hearing aids turned on, it was very hard to hear.

My Fix

The repair went very well. I loved ifixit's packaging. It was extremely professional. I really enjoyed the repair guide. It was very well done. However i enjoy watching videos and didn't find one attAched to the guide (I didn't look very hard) so I used a PHONEDOCTORS video. Anyways, after the repair I still found the earpiece wasn't working well still which meant it had to be the earpiece grill was to dirty--it couldn't have been my repair job cause I'm awesome. So I ended up blowing it out with air compressor, vacuuming it out with a shop vac, and using duct tape to get in the crevice real good. I did each several times to make sure I got it all and viola it worked!

My Advice

Try other non evasive options before you go replacing parts. It's not always mechanical.
