My Problem

The MacBook was from 2009 and needed a new battery, and the instructions I found at Ifixit was very helpful and they even had the battery and with the price and fast shipping,I had no doubt buying it from them.

My Fix

The repair was very easy and I was finished in about 6 minutes.

My Advice

Remember where the 8 screws was when you take them out, then you don't need to worry when you put them back :)

There was om my Mac 2 longer screws then the rest 6.

My Problem

The battery was damaged (blown up to 3 times its size...)

My Fix

Easy, was a piece of cake

My Advice

When removing the screws on the lid and on the battery document their placement: there are at least 3 different sizes.

My Problem

Friend's original MBA battery was shot. 5-yr old Apple products don't get OEM service parts support.

My Fix

Simple - one screw driver and time.

My Advice

Recommend an ice cube tray to keep screws separate. iFix it keeps another device running for an additional 2 years!

My Problem

I had already replaced the HD with an SSD (using iFixit) over year ago and what a difference that made. In the past month, the battery started fading and lasted a few minutes. Not worth even using it. I need it in meetings to take notes and the iPad just wasn't good enough. I need a new laptop or repair this one

My Fix

Easy. Easy. Easy. I followed the video and removed the screws. Removed the case. Removed more screws. Unplugged and removed the battery. Put the new one in, and reversed my steps. I now get almost 3 hours of battery live. Worth it!

My Advice

I'm impress that this 5 year old notebook is still running great. iFixit has helped me keep it going.

My Problem

original battery was swollen and completely dead, as if there was no battery in the laptop

My Fix

the tutorial was helpful, taking off back of computer and replacing the battery was easy, only difficulty was connecting battery to motherboard (or whatever its being connected to), the original battery slid in and out of the connector slot easily, but I couldn't get the new battery in it because the tiny tab that holds it in the slot was a little too big im guessing, I had to push very hard to get it all the way in the slot, which was difficult because it is a small part in a tight space and it was hard to get leverage, i was afraid I was going to break it, I finally was able to push it all the way in the slot but bent my fingernail backwards in the process, ouch! once I got it connected, put the compter back together, and turned it on, the battery works fine, came halfway charged too which was nice, can't comment on how many hours a full charge lasts because I havent run it down to dead yet

Update 1/25/15: Battery life isnt great. I timed it and it went from 100% to dead in approx 2 hours :/

My Advice

make tab on connector smaller so it slides into motherboard slot easier like oem battery does

My Problem

Because the old battery was dead.

My Fix

After watch the video, it was very fast and easy.

My Advice

Believe in it! you can do by yourself!

My Problem

I have a 1st generation MacBook Air in my shop that is in great shape, but the battery would no longer charge. It was easy to justify the replacement. This is a great machine to have available for presentations and travelers who need a loaner.

My Fix

The repair went flawlessly. I had already viewed the step-by-step here on ifixit and knew what to do. Also, despite already having the tools necessary, I was quite surprised and pleased that ifixit included a screwdriver that would have done the job.

My Advice

Give yourself plenty of bench space when doing this replacement. The screws you will remove when doing this repair come in differing sizes. When removing the case screws, place them on your bench in a way that you don't get mixed up as to which one goes where when reassembling. You could even take a piece of cardboard and punch the screws into it in a representational sort of way.

My Problem

La batterie était totalement à plat. Le MacBook Air s'éteignait à chaque fois qu'il était débranché du courant.

My Fix

En 15 mn chrono, la batterie était remplacée. Il y a une dizaine de vis très facile d'accès.

Attention, la batterie d'origine était explosée et à même déformée le caisson du MacBook Air, n'attendez pas pour en changer !

My Advice

My Problem

Change battery

My Fix

Perfect and so so easy. Thanks for your video. It was great! I am sold on IFIXIT for all of my apple computer where. Any idea what I can do with an old G4 MacBook?

My Advice

Just follow the video!

My Problem

Youtube Videos and instructions included within the packaging.

My Fix

Great!
