Introduction

Use this guide to replace the screen on your Motorola Moto Z Play by swapping out the screen/digitizer unit. This assembly does not include the home button or the front camera flash. If these parts are not being changed in addition to the screen/digitizer, they must be swapped from the old unit to the new one.

Power off your phone before attempting any repairs.
  • Power off your phone before attempting any repairs.

  • The screen is held on with a strong adhesive that must be heated prior to prying the screen off. The longer you heat the screen, the easier it will be to remove.

  • If the glass is broken, tape over the display to prevent injuries and reduce cleanup during the repair.

  • Heat around the edges of the screen with an iOpener, or hair dryer, for 2-3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

What kind of “3M VHB Double Sided Tape” is needed?

Could you link to the specific one in the parts list?
