How to convert the display cables

I have an old, dead iBook G4. Is there any way to use the display as a VGA monitor? I took the display out, but can't make heads or tails of the wires.

You would need to find adapters for the LVDS (video) cable and the inverter cable. This is not currently available on the market so you'd have to cut the LVDS cable connector (logic board end) and solder the wires to a VGA connector. You'd need to know the LVDS cable pins out schematic and the VGA connector corresponding schematic to match them. Not an easy task...

Now there's the power issue. The iBook G4 display use DC power coming from the inverter socket on the logic board. You'd have to find an adequate DC in adapter source to feed the display inverter board. Again good luck with this...

IMHO it's the kind of project I would not go in.

Close, but he uses the motherboard and video card from the old laptop. Everything in mine is dead except for the screen. Is there anyway to just use the display? Thanks
