track pad freeze when hot

My Battery currently runs plugged in in the 95-100% range.

Power unplugged runs about two hours. I notice when the computer runs hot the track pad will freeze and i cannot click anything. Now the access door is warped a bit, so i wonder if it is a battery problem or a fan failing to keep thing cool. When unit is cool i don't have any problems clicking anything. thank you.

Remove the bottom plate and see if battery swelling is causing the access door to warp. A swollen battery will press against the bottom of the trackpad and cause it not to work.

Freezing is a side effect of overheating. You can download a fan app. to see if your fans are operating. If you intend to DIY follow the proper guide for your exact machine and examine the warped area (perhaps you can try straightening it).

You can blow out the dust while you're in there, and see if that solves the problem. Prolonged overheating will damage the thermal paste (which aids in cooling).
