How can I put a 2012 new release main board into it?

Hi there!

I have heard people saying that you can put a 2012 mbp main board into the 2011 body to upgrade it. However, it won't work with 2010 model because "they are using the different module". I'd like to know if that's the difference caused by the ports to the left hand side? If i replace the metal body, too. (the part that holding key board) Will I be able to put a 2012 main board into my mid 2010 mbp?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hello Pan Z,

I would strongly discourage this. The firmware on the Logic Board is for the hardware associated with the computer. Even if their aren't any visual differences, there will be a lot of issues that you will run in to.

Hey Zach, I understand your concerns. But it will be fun to try eh? I mean spending like 400 bugs to upgrade an order computer to the newest model? haha, i just want to know the possibilities since some1 confirmed that 2011 release can do such "upgrade"
