Has the hinge issue been resolved?
Could someone please tell me if the hinge issue has been resolved in the new Macbook Air 2012.

Depends on what you call "resolved" they have an extened warranty coverage. This is for MacBook Air (Late 2008), MacBook Air (Mid 2009), MacBook Air (Original) only. They did a redesign for the new MacBookAirs that purportedly solves the original weakness.
