Desoldering RAM in order to upgrade possible?

Since the MBA, Apple introduced the soldered RAM. I remember someone who tried desoldering it, so he could upgrade it. Now, in the New MBP with Retina display, they did the same. I regret choosing for the 8GB model, because I want to run some Virtual Machines. Is it possible to desolder it, and upgrade the RAM yourself? (even solder the ram again if needed) Can you guys at iFixit maybe try it out?

Thanks in advance!

senthor << Only if you bought it online (that is, via a remote shopping facility).

vincent << Often, the store won't turn you down as they prefer a happy customer and an upsale to en unhappy customer and no upsale :)
